Cooke’s, a well-established family run Gastro pub, has been involved in the hospitality industry for the past 50 years.
We are located in the heart of Caragh village just a 10 minute drive from Naas, Newbridge, Sallins & Clane with Dublin City Centre only 40 minutes away.
We have grown substantially of late starting with the renovation of our Gastro Lounge three years ago. Since then we have added our beer garden & carpark to the rear. The recent addition of The Fox and Hare Restaurant has proven hugely popular with foodies both locally and from far afield.
Our mission is to provide the very best visitor experience for our guests, whether it’s a quick bite for all the family in the Gastro Lounge, a few drinks with friends or a more private & sophisticated dining experience in The Fox & Hare restaurant.

With a wealth of industry experience and a number of prestigious awards under his belt, Barry Hayden brings his fresh & contemporary style to Cooke’s of Caragh. His many achievements include captaining the Irish Team TWICE in the Culinary Olympics placing second & third (respectively) in the WORLD. His elegant palette and deep-felt love of food is evident in every dish with flavour taking centre stage.
Having worked in some of the finest restaurants over the years, Barry opened the renowned Candied Walnut firstly in Portarlington & then in Naas. He has a loyal following in the food industry and he’s a very welcome addition to our team.
